Spectacular and rare cloisonne made in Nagoya circa 1860 - late Edo period.

Attributed to Kaji Tsunekichi (1803–83) who was responsible for the renaissance of Japanese cloisonné

High-quality cloisonné with brass wire and various coloured enamels.

Body is decorated mainly with patterns of Karakusa foliage and Kiku flowers.

Arrow-shaped collar surrounding the neck is filled up with traditional Japanese geometrical patterns of: Kōjitsunagi, Shippō, Asanoha.

Foot rim decorated with cloud motif.

Condition: nearly perfect, with one small chipped area on the foot as shown on the photo.

This is a very rare item of museum quality that was preserved in great condition.
