Absolute rarity!

Dutch Delft blue and white thin glaze earthenware jug made in 1750-1770.

Factory: De Twee Scheepjes (The Two LIttle Ships).

Autor: Anthonij Pennis, son of Jan Pennis who ran the company from 1750 till 1770.

Anthonij Pennis took over the company from his father in 1764 and the same year he registered 'AP' mark.

Decorated with Chinese motifs depicting Fu - god of wealth wearing mandarin's robes; a deer, halberdier accompanied with another man; there is also a subtle scene depicting a man who has just lost a kite being comforted by his friend; the neck and foot rim are decorated with floral and ornamental patterns.

Original pewter lid.

Marked at the bottom.

Condition: very good with only minor fritting on the rim of the spout, no cracks, no hairlines, no signs of restoration, the whole body is intact, there are some scratches to the handle caused by pewter lid loosely gripping the top of the handle.
