19th Century watercolour by Frederic Barnard (1846-1896).

Fred Barnard was a Victorian illustrator and painter, mostly known for his illustrations to the novels of Charles Dickens published between 1871-79 by Chapman and Hall.

He was also a member of the Royal Academy of Arts.

The scene shows a young boy carefully applying medicine to his nan.

There are inscriptions on both the front and back of the paper.

One the back right edge, says: '?B In 1876 in the catalogue of The Royal Society of Artists Exhib at Burlington picture no 233'

Bottom one contains: '"(Title)" by Frederick Barnard'

Condition: very good, without any visible damage, no spotting.
