Chinese 19th C vase with French gilded bronze ormolu sophisticated base and collar.
The vase has an interesting palette of enamels - a cross between typical famille rose and famille verte.
Decorations are unusually rich and packed with charming details. The garden scene of a family enjoying the outside is surrounded with sections containing floral motifs with rooster, peacock and other birds; ornaments, borders and chimeras wrapped on the neck.
Condition: good, please be aware that the collar is masking an old damage - the neck had been damaged in the past and the top section was then trimmed down and covered with the gilded collar - small crack is still visible on the top section of the neck from the inside of the vase. The bottom was drilled to keep the heavy bronze base safely attached. No other structural damaged was spotted, just some minor tear of small sections of enamels.
Rare, unique, beautiful.
Height with the base and the collar: 36cm / 14.1in
