Wonderful Delft vase made in famous Greek A factory at the very beginning of the 18th C.
Within this piece one could observe a beautiful marriage of European and Oriental aesthetics as it combines strictly continental forms and shapes with decorations typical for an early Chinese and Japanese porcelain. Depicted on both sides of the vase are rock and flowers with birds motifs very common on early Chinese and Japanese wares. Both: the colour palette and mentioned designs were clearly inspired by an early Japanese kakiemon porcelain.
The vas was made in the Greek A factory by Pieter Kocx circa 1701-1722.
The lamp conversion with ormolu base and collar was done in France at the end of the 19th C.
Condition:
The base has been unfortunately drilled through, however it does contain 'APK' mark painted on it in red.
Top rim has been also slightly trimmed for the purpose of mounting brass elements of the collar.
There are minor surface scratches to the body.
No cracks or hairlines.
Upon inspection no signs of any restorations have been found.
The lamp detachable fuel container has visible signs of corrosion.
